Guest Conductor for Golborne Brass Band

 

Golborne Brass Band is pleased to welcome Mr Paul Andrews, as their new guest conductor. Paul shall be working with the band over the next 10 weeks, towards the Area Contest, which are held at Blackpool's Winter Gardens.

Paul's wealth of experience has already been drawn upon over the festive period, as he conducted the band throughout their busy December calendar. The feedback from both audience and band members was outstanding and very positive. Principle cornetist, James Lyon, quoted that  'Paul's energy, excitement and musical vision throughout the rehearsals and concerts in December was phenomenal. His ability to encourage and capture the bands sound, whilst raising the performance standards throughout the first month was amazing to behold. I am very excited to be working with Paul over the next 10 weeks.

Throughout this project lasting 10 weeks, Paul intends to develop and further aspects of performance, practice and stamina, which shall progress the bands development to the next level.   The band is very excited to be working with Paul towards Ralph Vaughan Williams' English Folk Song Suite. Paul has also agreed to assist ad guiding the band towards finding a permanent conductor using his knowledge of leadership and conducting.
