Training Band

Golborne Youth Brass Band are pleased to welcome Walter Roby as their new Musical Director! Walter has been a keen supporter of the youth band, where he has given his time on countless occasions helping to play in the youth band, and also tutoring the up and coming talent within the band, so it was only natural that he took the role, and helping to lead the youth band further.

Due to university commitments, Vicky Kinsley has had to resign as the musical director, in order to further her Master Level studies in Imminology and  Immunogenetics. It is with great regret I must announce my resignation as conductor of training band. Vicky has enjoyed every minute as musical directed, and spoke of her time as the youth band conductor with great affection.

'I have been back conducting the band for almost two years and have enjoyed this time immensely,recruiting many new players who have vastly improved due to their own motivation and effort,and performing many fun and enjoyable concerts with lots of positive feedback from the audience.'

'Walter, has a great wealth of musical knowledge and experience and I’m sure he will pass this on and subsequently will improve the youth bands performance standard'

Golborne Brass Band would like to thank Vicky for all of her support with the youth band. She has been excellent, and from her talent and support, some young musicians are entering the senior band. Thank you and good luck with your studies, Vicky.

The senior band would also like to wish Walter the best of luck, and will support him all the way in his new role as youth band musical director. We are all sure he will develop, nurture and further the exciting potential that is found in Golborne Youth Brass Band.
