Golborne Brass Band Victorious at Red Admiral Contest 2026

​Golborne Brass Band took 1st place in the Second Section at the Red Admiral Entertainment Contest 2026 with a score of 236 points.

​Under the direction of Musical Director Mareika Gray, the band led a field of six bands with a performance featuring a time-themed programme.

​The band picked up several other awards across the section:

• ​Most Entertaining Programme
• ​Best Cornets
• ​Best Flugel/Horns
• ​Best Euphonium/Baritone
• ​Best Trombones
• ​Best Basses
• ​Youngest Player Award

​The result reflects the dedication and hard work of every musician on stage. From the front row to the back seat, it was a full band effort.

​Golborne Brass Band extends congratulations to Kippax Band (2nd) and Rivington & Adlington Band (3rd), as well as all the ensembles that competed.
